As most of you know, Brandy and I were expecting our second child at any time now. Brandy had her last routine weekly exam on Thursday, 7/9/09, at 2:00 pm and everything was looking good with Brandy and the baby. Early Friday, 7/10/09, Brandy began to have contractions so we got everything together for the long trip down to Evanston and the Northwestern Univ. hospitals that had done such a wonderful job with our daughter Kaylee. We got there about 7 am Friday morning, got checked in, and settled down for the long haul. By 7:30 am, the doctors were unable to find the baby's heartbeat and told us that he was gone. Tests are still being done, however, at this moment, it is believed that Brandy suffered an abruption, where part of the placenta tears away from the uterus. At 12:24 pm on 7/10/09, Brandy delivered our beautiful son Nicholas, who weighed in at 9 lbs 13 oz. and 21.75 inches in length. He was every bit as adorable as his big sister, and while our hearts are very heavy, we feel extremely blessed to have shared the 9 months that we did have with our little angel.
I'm sorry, this isn't what I was expecting to blog, but we truly appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers at this time. Thank you all for all of your well wishes along the way, they have really meant alot to both of us.
